Not what I had planned

Most Fridays we spend up at our camper. Today we decided we better say home as the weather was predicting storms. Guess what? Not a single drop of rain all day or night. After work, we went to dinner and then decided we should go for a walk. We drove to our favorite park and started our journey. We didn't get very far before I saw this mom and her babies.

It was the perfect evening for fishing.

Some of the houses along the water.

I'd love this one :)

The only bad thing about living by the water is the lake flies. They are every where. The things that look like dust particles in this picture are the lake flies. YUCK!

Some day I'll own this house. It needs tons of work but I love the mystery of it. We never see a car or any activity there. It's pretty spooky looking.

Miss Aayla got to go for a swim again

And the beautiful sunset to end the day :)

Stormy Day

The weather has been all over the place this week. It's sunny one minute and then storming the next. I have started to take walks every day to get some fresh air during work and bring my camera along just in case.

This is the bridge and waterway right outside my office. We're so lucky to have beautiful scenery.

These ducks were sitting on the bank but decided I was getting a little too close, so they swam out to the bridge.

Here is a different look out my window during the storm. I wanted to capture the rain against the window. I think it turned out pretty good!

After work, Mike and I took Aayla for a walk to the park near our house.

I couldn't believe I didn't notice this mom and her babies sooner. Lucky for me they stayed close to shore.

I just about missed this mom and her babies, too!

This is Aayla's favorite part of summer walks. . . jumping into the water :)

More birds

Hope everyone had a great day :)

Afternoon walk

First off, I want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day! We had a wonderful weekend with friends and family. This post is actually from last week. I was so busy with company this weekend I only took a few pictures with my IPhone and only a handful with my camera.

I took advantage of the beautiful day we had last Monday and went for a walk on my lunch. Everything was still in bloom.

These two gentlemen are set up on the corner by my work. I haven't eaten there yet, but I think I'll have to try it out soon. The food smelled amazing!!! They are Smokin Pig Express.

I just love how our downtown area looks. There are so many cute shops. I'll have to do a post on a clothing store called Vintique. It's amazing! Now back to where I had lunch.

Great Harvest Bread Co. has amazing homemade breads, cookies, and they make delicious sandwiches. I really love the building itself.

When you walk in, you take an order sheet and pick what items you would like. My favorite is the classic club on honey whole wheat.

They have a sample board as well. While you wait for your sandwich to be made, you can try a few of their items.

The smells that meet your nose when you walk in are to die for!

The ceiling tiles are beautiful and add that little something extra.

Everything is nice and open and if you walk towards the back, you can watch them making dough.

Here's my sandwich :) It's making me hungry just looking at it!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and if you are ever in downtown Neenah, stop in at Great Harvest Co. You won't be disappointed :)

Three strikes and you're OUT!

Last night we watched Mike's nephew play baseball, a perfect night for a ball game. You'll notice he sticks his tongue out a lot :)

This hit got him on to first and started the next few photos.

He was leading off and they threw it to first to try and pick him off. The throw was high and went to the fence so he took off for second.

He rounded second and as he slid in to third...

the ball got past the third baseman so he ran home and scored.

It was a crazy inning! It was a great night and they ended up winning. I look forward to watching him again soon.

Just another day

Second post of the day :) We have had the strangest weather lately. We were supposed to have all these severe storms but as they get closer, they fade away. We were even in danger of tornados! I'm not complaining, but it's sure making it difficult to plan things.

I took a few photos at work today. It was a beautiful day to take a walk and we are so lucky to have our office building right next to the water.

A few posts ago, I showed you a photo of a mother goose sitting on her nest. The babies have finally hatched!!!!

Such a pretty shade of red :)

I hope everyone had a great day :)
